Janssen & Son was a name used by a large Belgian maker of shotguns named Janssen & FILS & Co located in two places in Liege, Belgium at the dates given. 49 Rue Fusch 1893 to 1939 and 29 Rue Duvier from 1946 to 1957. I guess they took World War 2 off. These guns did not have inferior steel but did have barrels made in the fashion used then which was known as damascus. Makers back then could not or did not make solid tube barrels.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is fixed white plastic bead, there is a fixed brass bead halfway down the barrel.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The two piece checkered wood stock has a pistol grip and thick rubber buttpad. The stock shows light handling and storage marks. There are a few minor scratches, draglines, and compression marks. The buttstock has been wrapped with black tape, the tape appears to be holding the oversized rubber buttpad in place. The LOP measures 13” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stocks rate in about Good overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion and for the age, this bore rates a 9 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 90% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light wear from handling and storage. There is a light to moderate amount of surface erosion scattered throughout. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
